Burgdorf Hot Springs

A three day weekend and a less than perfect weather forecast left us looking for alternative options for our weekend. We do have a giant tent, but near freezing temperatures and certain rain meant that if we did camp we would likely see more than our fair share of the inside of that giant tent.

After much deliberation, we set off with friends to the rustic cabins and soothing waters of Burgdorf Hot Springs.

Ahhhh....

I'd Rather (Not) Be Boating

On our Baby Bucket List since last summer, the North Fork Meanders which flow into Payette Lake were calling to us all weekend. On our return trip, we decided to take the chance and load the girls into a tandem kayak for a short paddle.

Step 1: Bundle up in waterproof suits

Step 2: Life jackets... this is where things start to go south. Except for Daddy. He still seems to be having a grand time.

Step 3: Paddle.

Step 4: Think about having fun

Step 5: Beach party

A bit of rain and a quick paddle back to North Beach, and we were able to strip those stupid pfd's and get on with our drive home. I'm sure it won't be long before we try again. In the meantime, we'll seriously consider designing our own infant pfd's without the multitude of design flaws that are present in all that we've tested so far.

Helpers

The house is mostly kid proof so we sometimes let the girls run loose in our vast square footage, but it's true what they say about the danger that looms when the little ones are quiet. This is what danger looks like in our house. It would be less painful if I wasn't always trying to reproduce the military folds and organization of our dear nanny, Kiki.

Everything must go!

First Birthday Photos (sort of)

We're super busy and a little delayed around here, so they are actually 13+ month pics. Then it took us over two months to get back to the photographer to pick them out. Nonetheless, I'm pretty happy with the results.

These are photos of contact sheet photos. Lacking the brilliance of the originals, of course, but I couldn't wait to share.

I love these girls!

Stay tuned for two others that I'm having trouble rotating for the blog.

Cate's Loves

Some of Cate's favorite things...

Her Daddy!

Grabbing the camera!

Floor pillows!

Cuddling with...

And sitting on her Kai!

Kale chips!

Kitchen cabinet exploration!

Floor pillows + Kai + her sister = Best Flop Ever

For the record, having her fingers slammed in the kitchen cabinet is definitely NOT one of her favorite things. Especially while clueless Mama keeps snapping shots.

Lela's Loves

Oh boy, our girls are loads of fun! As I scanned our latest group of pictures I noticed a theme. The photos show the girls getting into all of their favorite types of mischief.

Some of Lela's favorite things...

Walking. Yay!!

Her dump truck!

Kai's water dish!

The yoga ball!

Naked neighbor watching!

Putting on (or eating) her shoes!

Charlie Harper!

Floor pillows!
And her Kaidog!
