Mid Trek

Park Time

One of the many things we love about our neighborhood is the lovely little park one block from our house. We skipped the stroller/wagon transportation this morning and tried to walk there with the girls. Cate didn't quite make it due to some teething crankiness and a nasty knee-skinning fall half way there, but Lela trekked the whole way.

The playground is probably meant for kids over 3 years, but with close monitoring and lots of redirecting, there is lots there for L & C to enjoy.

More Lids

Big Beautiful World

Lela stops often to take it all in.

Little Hikers

Cate and Lela have been on lots of hikes, but have always gotten rides from mom and dad or their sherpa friends.

Last weekend, following a Chariot ride to the creek, the girls got to explore the trail on their own...

Socks and Squares

After countless hours of practice, Lela is now putting on her own socks.

Sometimes it's just one sock. And sometimes it's my sock. But don't let that detract from this most impressive feat (no pun intended). She has worked really hard for this and is very pleased with her progress. Now if she could just figure out shoes.

Cate had her sights set on a different kind of accomplishment.

Climbing seems to be the activity of choice lately and climbing into and onto forbidden furniture tops the list of most desired destinations. The Ikea bookshelf square seemed like a reasonable (ie. low risk) compromise.

Every day is filled with new adventures!

Rare Self Portrait with L

Sunday Morning

Steer clear of this little one until she's had her morning coffee milk, toast cheerios and time to read the paper Babies r Us catalog.
