Summer in St. Louis
Okay, fine. Here goes...
First stop, Kansas City for Uncle Pat's retirement from the Air Force.
A lovely ceremony followed by some delicious Hart's Blazing BBQ (as if the guy didn't have enough going on that day) and a tour of a B-2 Bomber. Those photos are top secret. If I show them to you, I have to kill you.
Then off to St.Louis for a birthday party for cousins, Bastian and Sabian. Boy, do they know how to party? The girls enjoyed their first parent-approved cupcakes. Like, real cupcakes. Like, the kind that don't try to hide how truly indulgent and bad for you they are. Yum!!
Come to think of it, Lela hasn't hit a major waterslide since.
Family gatherings happened....

They also enjoyed some solo rides down a GIANT water slide.
Unfortunately it didn't always look (or end) pretty.

WoW!
I just realized how far behind I really was in posting. Sure, I posted in September, but you all haven't seen most of June, July, and August.
Forgive me if I repeat something, but I'm just going to dive in here.
After four years of grad school, I finally finished in May. The program was pretty reasonable, but I eventually realized that trying to complete my Masters while working full time and having two babies was actually outrageous and I very pleased to be wrapping it up. I was also a bit of a mess and really looking forward to a break in the summer!
While John was with him mom, the girls and flew alone together a few times. They love flying and are usually pretty good, but they were exceptionally good on our flights this summer! Our very first flight unexpectedly had them sitting alone across the aisle and a little ahead of me. Not even 2 1/2 years old, and these girls rocked it!

June brought some hot summer days and some sprinkler fun in the front yard.
Then, our trip to St.Louis... a post I started previously. I'll still have to get back to that one.
